NYC is full of cheap Chinese GSM phones!

14 06 2007

I’m contemplating starting up a NYC underground electronics tour guide after seeing so much Chinese mobile tech gear this week. We’ve seen the fake iPods with video cameras and speakers built in for rock bottom prices (my buddy just picked up a 4GB Nano-a-like for $40 today). But today I bring you two very sexy unlocked GSM touch screen multimedia phones that have just arrived from the Far East this week.

They’re very very small but manage to pack in 3.2 megapixel cameras with flash, stereo Bluetooth, FM radios, microSD, TV-out, and QVGA displays. They’re only $200 too! (Compared to the $500 you’d pay for a near equivalent PocketPC phone here).chinese gsm cheap nyc phones manhattan touch screen microSD mac harris selectroclashchinese gsm cheap nyc phones manhattan touch screen microSD mac harris selectroclashchinese gsm cheap nyc phones manhattan touch screen microSD mac harris selectroclashchinese gsm cheap nyc phones manhattan touch screen microSD mac harris selectroclash

can you give me an address for where I can buy some electronics like the ones you mentioned in NYC. Preferably cell phone distributors of the HTC touch pro or knock off phones (e.g. prada, tphone, etc)

There are many good china made “fake” phones about. As long as they are not marketed as the real thing, I see no problem with them. They allow your average Joe sixpack to have the same features in a phone as the top earners get. I suspect that the component quality is comparable with top name makes and there is always an element of “paying for the name”, which is OK if you can afford it.
